University of Kent

The continuing success and expansion of the University of Kent in Canterbury has prompted fresh thinking about the future evolution and development of the University campus and its surrounding areas. This will include new thinking on transport and movement, and ideas to reduce the adverse impact of traffic on the area as a whole, and the campus areas in particular.

Hamilton-Baillie Associates prepared a study in 2013, exploring ways to reverse the decline in the quality and safety of the roads serving the Campus.

In 2017, Hamilton-Baillie Associates joined John Letherland, CMA Planning and Birds Portchmouth Russel Architects to assist the University of Kent’s Estates Team prepare a long-term masterplan to provide a comprehensive framework for the campus, its buildings, landscape, ecology, surroundings and transport infrastructure.
