Frideswide Square, Oxford

Hamilton-Baillie Associates were part of the team advising Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council on proposals to transform Frideswide Square into an appropriate entry point into the West End of the City.

The project was officially completed on December 16th, 2015, after 10 months of construction.

The transformation involved the removal of all traffic signals and the introduction of a low-speed, continuous flow traffic space with a strong focus on the pedestrian and bicycle routes to and from the Railway Station.

Landscaping and design detailing was carried out by The Urbanists, with support from Atkins and many other specialist consultants. Skanska are the main contractors.
