Sonning Common
Sonning Common Parish Council commissioned Hamilton-Baillie Associates to prepare a village improvement plan. The report builds on the principles of place-making and lower traffic speeds to set out a series of relatively small-scale projects that can be implemented over time.
Sonning Common has a comprehensive Neighbourhood Plan, which highlighted the extent of concerns about the impact of traffic on the quality of life and community confidence. The traffic report seeks ways to harness the remarkable energies and resourcefulness of the Sonning Common community to gradually shift the emphasis of the village streets away from “highways” and towards informal places.
The findings and recommendations will be discussed further at community events in June 2018.
