Falkland

Falkland, the historic village in Fife, has a remarkable streetscape surrounding its palace and gardens. Pressure for new developments are putting great pressure on such a valuable public realm, with traffic making it gradually harder for tourists to enjoy the very special surroundings.

Parking pressure is immense, and strident yellow lines fail to help manage the problem.  In 2017 Ben carried out a short intensive study of the village and its surroundings, and prepared a set of recommendations and principles on which to base future investment in Falkland’s streets and spaces.
