Holy Island

For many spectacular sites and special places, there is an urgent need to manage the relationship between visitor traffic, parking and access, the needs of local residents, and the quality of the natural environment. For Holy Island, with over 600,000 visitors a year, the impact of cars and coaches generates particular problems.

The Holy Island Partnership has commissioned Hamilton-Baillie Associates to advise on all aspects of access, arrival and parking, and ways to protect the quality of the small village and fragile tranquillity of the island from the impact of traffic.
